The Good Life
with a Southern Drawl

Woman Of Style Cassandra Connors

By Amy Bailey — October 13, 2014

Cassandra Connors started Bella Bag in May 2005 when she was broke, couldn’t pay her bills, and couldn’t find anywhere who could help her sell her vintage Gucci Boston Bag outright, instead of consignment. So she decided to do it herself. From there she created place that would specialize in only authentic designer handbags. Bella Bag has now become one of the most regarded places to buy, sell, and trade pre-owned luxury handbags from brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Dior, and more. Bella Bags has also written the manual on authenticity with a 13-point authenticity inspection now used nationwide by many others. If you are still using Ebay or other online buy/sell companies, stop right now and start using Bella Bag, a Southern owned company by an amazing, family-focused woman. MyScoop interviewed Cassandra and we hope you find her words as inspiring as we did.

What is your favorite part about waking up in the morning?
Seeing my daughter’s beaming face when I go into her room to take her out of her crib! She’s always so excited!

What inspires you each day?
Different things all the time, but today I’ve found myself very inspired by other companies and their amazing innovations. It pushes me to work harder and give my all to Bella Bag.

How does your home and family inspire you?
In every way. My daughter inspires my through her innocence and joy. My husband inspires me through his generosity and intelligence. And my dogs inspire me through their unconditional love.

What is your favorite thing about calling the South ‘home’?
It is definitely peaceful and traditional.¬†Living in Atlanta helps me to find the things in life to build the classic elements of my life and business. I love that this where the Bella Bag flagship is located (in Buckhead) and where our corporate offices are. The South will always be a special home to me because this is where my business was born and calls “home base”.

What are some tips you would give women to stay inspired through life’s trials and tribulations?
It is 100% true that every time I’ve lost something in my personal life and in business, I’ve gained something greater in the long run. Whether it was simply growing deeper into myself or actually getting something tangible and financial, my losses have always panned out to be gains.

How do we begin to create a better life?
In my opinion, this begins with understanding that we may possibly not all know what is best for ourselves, that we need to trust that the world actually runs smoothly in it’s own right, and that we needn’t control every outcome. I believe in the old adage that you must “surrender to win”.

How would you describe your personal style?
Classic and comfortable. I usually am in a skinny pant, a low heel and a silk blouse or cashmere sweater with some simple jewelry. I let my accessories do the talking – I am always sure to have a great bag, of course!

What was your favorite thing to wear as a child?
Mini skirts!

What is your favorite thing to wear now?
Jeans. Every woman should have great denim in their wardrobe.

What is your favorite quote?
The best things in life are free, the second best are very expensive!  -Coco Chanel

Who have played mentor roles in your life?
My father, my mother, my husband.

What advice would you give to women in their 20s.
Be gentle on yourself. You are not who you will be yet, not even close.
