Every year I look forward to the Oscars, but this year in particularly because the films nominated were intense, artistically over the top, and real. What a fun night to see Hollywood glamour at its finest and to applaud films that aren’t just entertaining but educational. The always dazzling red carpet produced gorgeous looks, but this year the jewels stole the show. MyScoop’s favorite looks were not just about the dresses, but also about the jewelry.
Margot Robbie’s simple yet beautifully draped Saint Laurent gown paired with eye popping jewels from Van Cleef and Arpels and a beautiful red lip. The contrasting red lip with blue jewels against the black gown was picture perfect. Robbie also sported a new do – a cropped bob that really complemented the red carpet look.
Gwyneth loves pink and this Ralph and Russo gown was so very flattering. But what we couldn’t get enough of – the jewels, Anna Hu Fire Phoenix earrings (priced at $425,000), consisting of two pear-shaped cabochon Rubellites set in white gold amid white-and-yellow diamonds; blue, pink and purple sapphires; spinels and paraiba tourmalines – breathtaking. Celebrity hairstylist Blake Erik gave Paltrow a sleek look that showed off the jewels beautifully.
Over 6,000 pearls donned this Calvin Klein dress worn by Lupita Nyong’o. These are not your grandmother’s pearls! 5 variations of pearls can be found on the dress which was hand sewn for Lupita. A gorgeous gown of pearls calls for gorgeous earrings by Chopard.
Reese Witherspoon’s Tom Ford Black and White gown fit her to a T and paired with jewels by Tiffany made for a glamorous Hollywood look reminiscent of Grace Kelly. The best accessory Witherspoon brought to the red carpet, her brain, asking reporters to ask leading ladies about more than just what they are wearing the campaign: #AskHerMore.
To complement her Elie Saab gown Emma Stone wore a rose-cut diamond cuff in 18 karat yellow and white gold from Tiffany Blue Book. The price is only available on request, but you can pick up her emerald-cut diamond stud earrings set in platinum for a mere $112,000.
Not on the actually red carpet at The Dolby Theater, but this look was too beautiful to not include. Miranda Kerr wore a custom Pucci gown with jaw-dropping jewels by Lorraine Schwartz to the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party hosted by Graydon Carter.
